I was off today and it has been one of those rainy, humid Georgia days where you just want to be lazy and stay inside. It’s been a very laid back day, we all need those from time to time. I prefer them all the time, but my Husband likes to remind me that we have work to do. Love you babe!
This morning I took my Grandpa to the Doctor, then we got lunch and headed back home. The quality time I get to spend with family is just such a blessing. I see my Grandparents every weekend, and it’s been that way since I was a child.
I remember being picked on when I was in Middle School and High School for spending so much time with them, or everyone would say I was “lame” for turning down a party to hang out with my Grandparents on a Saturday night. Then when I turned fifteen and started working everyone would say that I had no life because all I did was work and spend time with my family.
I will never understand why people choose to not spend time with their Grandparents, or family for that matter. They’ve been through so much, and all they want is for someone to just sit and talk with them. Or even just a simple phone call to say that you love them.
I know there’s situations where people don’t have a close relationship or something happened in the past where it all fell apart, and you’re left there trying to piece the puzzle together but just can’t. Trust me I know what that’s like.
I know this post isn’t about an update or renovation we’re working on, but to those out there who are reading this- When was the last time you called your Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa, Brother or Sister? And told them you loved them?
You don’t lose anything by picking up the phone and making that call, you also never know when it may be the last time you hear their voice.
As I sit here in our home I can’t thank the man upstairs enough for the blessings he’s provided for us, and the love I share with my family.
Make that call, you won’t regret it.
